The Struggle is REAL!

I have a major super-book-nerdy problem and I am hoping I am not the only one…

A book I really really reaaaaally want finally comes out and I rush to the store to purchase it ASAP. Unfortunately I am in the middle of another book so I can’t start it right away.  This current read was super interesting and I was digging it…until the new book arrived. Now I can’t concentrate on the current book and it becomes a major struggle to finish it. What the heck is going on?? And how do I fix this? I usually end up power reading through the rest just to get it over with and I tend to not really absorb any of the story that way. Where did my patience go and how do I get it back? I know I could start reading the new book at the same time (but really – I will probably ignore the first read until I finish this new book and then I will forget the story and have to start over.) I want to give 100% to the anticipated book so I probably won’t ever read two at once. The struggle is real!!

Am I the only one who goes through this??

When I was younger I used to read two at once. It never went too well lol stories got jumbled or one neglected. I may have to try it again!

      Thanks for stopping by!

If you lay the current book aside, you might not forget the story. I can go back to a book after a week or more and within a few sentences it all begins to come back to me. It might come with practice or perhaps age, lol. Because I am in several book groups, I am usually reading several books at once. My only problem is if two of the books have the same general setting and time period.

Ah yes, the similar settings/time periods can be tricky! I don’t know how you read several books at once! Being easily distracted by new books is the reason I have yet to join any book clubs lol
